The people believed that God had sent the curse upon them to punish them for their sins. Turbulence within the church lucifer chose a leader Brother Thomas Seton to recruit a large following to perpetrate hisa prime evil. These followers pledged themselves to the only real god and were threatened with excommunication. New England: the present a frozen Father Daniels runs across the seminary grounds muttering he has to see the bishop. A worshipper sacrifices his virgin daughter for thirteen years of protection from the devil during which he will not age, after which he may sacrifice another blood relation. A reformed drugaddict prostitute, Cathy, has a job interview as a paralegal secretary on Wall Street, organized by her case worker.  A nun comes to the bisjhop to inform him that Father Daniels was killed by a sect, whose symbol is a devil face on a pentagram, not of a coronary. The bishop recognizes the symbol and vows they must be destroyed during thee winter solstice when the sect is weakest. and arranges a nun to masquerade as a disgraced nun and infiltrate the sect. The handyman of the sect breaks in on the lovemaking of the paralegal hopeful (Brett) and her boyfriend with instructions to make it look like an accident. Despite the Kungfu grip of the boyfriend, the handyman stabs him and drugs her. The caseworker cant have sex because her father sold her to a kiddie porn ring when she was six years old. Her grandfather George intends to sacrifice her to Lucifer. George vows one day to rule all men. Her boyfriend, Bill, is an ass. prof. of renaissance history. Alexandra is brought aside by father Thomas Seaton. She is charmed and dazzled by him. Gradfather wants Alex to come and live with him. Mother is an alcoholic. She never liked the Parkers, and said that Alex would live with him over her dead body. Dark figures enter mother's chamber, and force her to drink something. The devil's urine? Sister Angela says she was a fool to take her vows. THe church is corrupt. The satanists contact her. Father Seaton sells the satanists as corrupt but not hippocritical. Sister Angela agrees to take the vows. To break them would mean a fate that's swift and terrible. She smashes a ceramic crucifix. She takes off and burns her habit before the gathered coven. Father Seaton assures Alex that moving in with grandfather Parker is the best. Bill is not pleased about the decision. Alex seems to be quite taken with father Seaton. This is causing quite some strain with Alex. Midnight december 21 (the winter solstice), they are to sacrifice a young girl. A hooker is gathered in by the goon. Father Seaton once again promises love as she has never known it before. Alex dreams that she is sacrifed. Bill insists that he meet Alex immediately. Judy is a hooker. She is brought to a halfway house for waytward girls. The handyman tracks down Alex's friend. He also gets a hold of Judy. Bill has located the identity of the talisman--it is thousands of years old, and was found on Alex's mother's body when she was found dead. What are they collecting these fallen women? Alex is with father Seaton again. Bill struggles with the handyman. The "initiation" of the fallen women begins. The cop is left with Bill's notes. He pieces together the information, and decides that on the witnter solstice, tonight, Alex will be sacrificed.
