Critique: Now younger brother Ricky is a huge psychotic muscleman. An agressive interview with his 13th psychologist prompts Ricky to rampage on his way back to another showdown with Mother Superior. After 30 minutes of flashbacks, which are certainly nice clips, the less compelling sequel begins. Similar to the first movie it's hard to tell who's crazier, the Santa Claus Slasher or the Mother Superior. To be sure she is much crazier in her brief appearance in this one. It's not very much of a new movie though. Other than the occasional banter of Ricky and the Psychologist, the first half is only flashbacks and the second half is basically just slashing and not very interesting slashing at that. Probably because slashing in and of itself can't make a story go. Since Ricky's psychosis, and acting, are less compelling than brother Billy's, his rampage is more depressing than horrifying. This dreadful Mother Superior surbvives again, proving either there is no God, or that God has no sense of justice.
Plot Summary: Ricky Caldwell, Billy's little brother from part I, is in an insane asylum where Dr. Henry Bloom interviews him on tricky on tape Your time is running out. Twice Dr. Bloom, "shrink # 13" to Ricky, orders the orderly/goon out of the room as angry Ricky attempts to frighten him. On 24 December, Doc wants answers: "Who killed your parents?" Ricky answers "Santa Claus", and reports of the murder at the hands of Santa Claus. Ricky has a terrible attitude, apparently due to his embittering stay at St. Mary's orphanage, where he was ill-treated by the same evil Mother Superior whom his brother tried to kill at the end of part one. "Do you have bad dreams Ricky?" I don't sleep. Mother Superior's strict theories of discipline and her notion of naughty and nice have taken root in Ricky's way of judging the world. Unfortunately, like his brother Billy, he has grown to become a giant muscleman. Ricky defends the idea that Billy got the 8 people who deserved to be punished. After the Billy massacre, the orphanage was closed and kindly sister Mary found Ricky a family, the Rosenbergs, for whom Christmas is not part of religion. Life with the Rosenbergs was good for the 12 year old, no more orphanage or killer brother, still, the mere sight of nuns or the color red as in Santa's clothes sends him into catatonia. Sadly, after five years stepfather Mr. Rosenberg died. After the death, Ricky spent a lot of time walking alone and thinking. On one such walk he spied two lovers on a picnic and when the male, Eddy began to sexually assault Paula, Ricky recognizes this behavior as "naughty" and runs over Eddy with his red Jeep. Paula thanks him for this act of chivalry. Red car! Since there wasn't enough money for Ricky to go to college, he got a job doing dishes. Whilst dumping garbage, he witnesses an armbreaker beating a debtor and taking sadistic pleasure in the beating. He wipes his face with a red hanky and runs the transgressor through with a red and white umbrella. The state review board opined that "Too many people get away with shit like that." Back in the present, the doctor becomes more unnerved as he gets further into Ricky's story. Ricky won't, however, talk about Jennifer, the only person he ever cared about. She hit him on his motorcycle. She was a knockout and he never wanted to lose her. She was his first sexual partner, and he thought he was her first too. An idiot in the theater makes him angry and calls him a faggot. The movie they are seeing is about a guy who dresses up like Santa Claus and kills people, shouting: "Punish!" Chip, Jennifer's ex shows up and says hello. Ricky kills the irritating guy in the back row and settles back to enjoy the movie. On a walk, Ricky and Jennifer run into Chip, who infuriates Ricky with references to sex in the back of his old red Mustang. Ricky responds by blowing Chip's eyes out via jumper cables attatched to his tongue. Ricky wraps the car antenna around Jennifer's neck and shoots the intervening cop with his own gun, then shoots a neighbor who comes to investigate another neighbor and a red Chevette. Laughing as he marches down the street until surrounded by police, he puts the gun to his head, but typical for his luck, he is out of bullets. Finally, having reached the end of this tale of woe, Ricky strangles the doctor and leaves to finish his work. Six hours later, the police inform the nuns of the escape. Mother Superior now lives alone, having retired after her stroke. Ricky "procures" a Santa suit and calls the Mother Superior who is complaining of the heresy of the Christmas parade and drinking red wine when Ricky arrives. Mother Superior, in a wheelchair, does battle with the psycho-Santa until police arrive and dispatch him.
