Critique: Watch at the beginning for when Reggie goes downstairs to get a rifle. His guitar, which he had just set down at the fire place has been misplaced by the prop person. Once again some nice scares from the tall man, some decent zombie types. If you've seen the first one, the story line is a bit more coherent. The aliens should replace the spheres with something more discerning: in two films the spheres kill 75% of their own team, rarely accomplishing the primary purpose of getting enemies, if thereby fulfilling the secondary purpose of scaring the viewer with failed attempts to do so. Some fine special effects, particularly the tall man's big meltdown problem at the end which owes an effects-debt to From Beyond as does the hunchback scene. The bluish lighting again creates a wonderful mood as do the extensive scenes shot in empty graveyards and busy mausoleums. Dead Grampa with his sewn-up lips is scary.chainsaw duel that owes a lot to Evil Dead II as does the home made sawed off shotgun motifThe final showdown is spectacular but don't get upnto go to the bathroom. It ain't over til its over! Insider Joke: As the staffer cleans the creamatorium to burn Liz, he places the remainds of one "Sam Raimi" in a plastic bag, a tip of the cap to the Evil Dead director.

Plot Summary: Eight years ago Liz' visions began, terrifying visions of things to come. At the end of part one Mike was told it was all a dream. Through her dreams she found Mike and his friend Reggie but she also found him, the tall man. In the recap of part one Reggie saves Mike and blows up the small creatures in his house which was all an illusion created by the tall man. He destroys towns and plunders graveyards to enslave the dead. "Soon my grandfather will die and my visions will become real" declares Liz. She calls on Mike for help in stopping the Tall man. Mike lies his way out of Morningside Psychiatric Clinic after seven years by saying what his doctor wants to hear and he's off to help Liz, his dream girl. Reggie finds him digging in the graveyard. After digging up three graves he is yet to find a body. Mike believes the tall man is communicating with others like him through visions. As they approach Reggie's house, Mike hears the tallman welcome him as the house explodes killing Reggie's daughter, wife, and aunt. Reggie and Mike now team up to stop the tall man. The boys loot a hardware store to prepare for close up combat making their own double decker-double barrel sawed-off shotguns, procuring chainsaws, flamethrowers, etc. They follow a northwesterly trail of desolation through empty towns with empty graveyards. Sometimes the tall man sets traps for them like at the empty St. Mary's Cemetary where a fake hunchback Liz with a tall man replica monster in her back, who advises them to follow him east. Liz and her sister Jerry attend Grampa's funeral with Grandma before Jerry has to leave. In the scary mortuary, Liz notices the small scuttlers just as she realizes her palms are bleeding. The Priest can't stand the sacrilege any longer and tries to preemptive strike when he drives a knife through Grampa's heart. Unfortunately, Grandma witnesses this and collapses. The tall man meets Liz and advises her to return to the service. Sch pierces his finger with a hairpin and he drinks the yellow ooze. A zombie Grampa terrifies the wretched drunk priest and then lays down in bed with a screaming grandma. Reggie picks up the beautiful hitchhiker Alchemy, who Mike recognizes, upon awakening, happens to be a woman he saw dead on a mausoleum table in an earlier vision. Mike is against taking her, noting, she's in danger, but Reggie's lust rules the day. Meanwhile Liz can't find Grandma. She hears the Tall man's voice "If you want her, come tonight!" The boys and "Chemie" pull into Perigord Manor to find it deserted including her uncles's bed & breakfast which is boarded up. They break in and turn the place into a fortress. Liz finds Grampa's grave empty and heads for the funeral home where she observes the staff bringing dirt-covered coffins into the embalming room. The boys meanwhile observe more staff exhuming coffins. The drunk priest is in the funeral home too until the tall man inverts his crucifix and hangs him by his rosary for a while "You think that when you die you go to heaven. You come to us!" The skulking priest joins forces with Liz before one of the silver spheres (see part one) drills his brains out. Then the tall man bounces Liz off the wall and tiny Grandma attempts to drag her off but Liz gonks her with a vase, "Sorry Grandma". Fortuitously, Liz finally encounters Mike and Reggie and they witness the hearse pull out and the boys and girls rendezvous at the B&B for a last night of passion before the battle. During the night, Liz and Mike discover that the both have ESP which is why they knew all along what the tall man was up to. They also declare their love for each other while Reggie and Chemie have sex and a grenade goes off downstairs. Mike has a grim realisation "Who are we kidding? I'm a 19 year old kid. You're a bald middle aged ex icecream vendor. We can't kill him alone!" Right then the tall man bust through a second floor window and escapes with Liz in the hearse. Reg bids Chemie goodbye and vows to meet her 100 miles south if he's able. In a road duel with the Tall Man, the boys flip, Mike frees Reggie from the wreck, and Reggie's car explodes. Placed by a staffer on a treadmill, Liz awakens in time to escape cremation and cremates the zombie staff guy instead. Mike rescues her from a sphere which takes the hand of a zombie staff guy, and the ball chases them, busting through a door to finish off the one handed zombie. Reggie blasts a trio of scuttlers and finds Mike and Liz. They take the sphere that had pinned the hand to the wall. Mike drills a zombie digger then engages him in a chainsaw duel. Chemie hot-wires and steals the hearse. Using the sphere as a key, the trio opens a gate to the other side. The tall man grabs Liz, but Reggie and Mike are sucked into a windy moon-scape. Just before a slimy scuttler bites Reggie, Mike pulls them back. where they find drums full of little people. They are about to torch the place when the tall man walks in. As the tall man prepares to preserve Liz, Mike sticks a needle with hydrochloric acis in the tall man's neck and he melts down. Reggie burns the place and Chemie picks them up. Yhe drive off jubilant. Chemie pulls her hair away, revealing that she is a monster. Through the window, they see the mangled reggie on the road. They councel each other a dream, but the tall man overrules them and busts through the window dragging them off. (See American version again)
