Southern California. Why did the M.P.s miss and the boys mow them down so easily? Maybe they're already dead! If they're not, the viewer's interest is. the suggestion without support that devil worshipers lived in the house. What an amazing waste of good special effects! These scarecrows are by no means your basic garden variety. These are outstanding work, very detailed, horrifyingly handsome monsters who never get a chance. The viewer will have a hard time becoming involved in the predicament of the protagonists.Anyone who's ever been in a cornfield at night will know how much fun killer scarecrows would be,.things are bad enough as it is We saw it three times, yet we don't see it. </B></div> <bR> <div> <B>Eloquent lines:</B></div> <bR> <div> <B><U>Plot Summary</U></B><B>: A group of criminals fresh from a brutal paramilitary robbery (three marines dead) of a payroll office at Camp Pendleton attempt to get away with their haul in a hijacked Baja Air cargo plane. The pilot and his spunky daughter are hostages. They have taken hostages. An intensive manhunt is underway as the plane is presumed headed for the Mexican  One of the gang, British Bert, causes a smoke bomb distraction and bails out with the dough 3.5 million. The robbers discard the grenade in the nick of time and using a nearby house as a landmark, the team doubles back and parachutes after him. Though they were headed for the border, the landscape is suspiciously Nebraskan.  Dazed but uninjured Bert dons his night-vision goggles and finds he's in a makeshift graveyard with three crosses, by a house and a cornfield featuring a real scary looking scarecrow. Bert approaches the house as his descending buddies threaten him over the radio and tell him they owe him a live grenade. Just then Bert notices that a flyswatter that had hung on the wall is now missing. He runs for the truck in yard and drives while Rox informs them from the plane that the headlights are moving Southeast. As he pulls out, he overruns one of three scarecrows that seem to look on. Leader Curry and dumb Jack are on that one road where they too see the scarecrows through binoculars. Bert stops to pick up the money and leaves the road to avoid his friends when his truck stalls and he discovers there is no engine.? Bert in his panic shoots the other two scarecrows and runs from his radio taunting buddies After running into a tree, Bert begs the scarecrows to take the money and addresses them as his friends when he is suddenly skewered by a scary scarecrow. Suddenly back at the house, the wheel and generator start and the pane of a picture of the Fowler brothers mysteriously cracks.some rednecks  That's what counts an an explanation for what's going on. Curry and Jack arrive at the lit house to discover the same empty shells Bert found upon his arrival Corbin arrives shortly thereafter followed by Rox and her hostages who have landed in a cornfield. Jack spots the money parachute near three unoccupied crosses when he suddenly spies a growling scarecrow and panics. As they search they feel they are being watched. Somehow the pilot is alone long enough to signal the army hide a treasury sack and get his revolver when he hears his daughter uncharacteristically calling for help. Meanwhile the boys find a scarecrow in Bert's stead in the truck and a second set of footprints with Bert's. Jack cuts the money bag in a tree and blood squirts on curry. Bert shows up at the house apparently alive. The gang sweats him a bit. For refusing to cooperate. Suddenly reanimated, an obviously disemboweled and somewhat scarecrow colored Bert pounds on the whole gang  takes six shots, has his fingers bit off by vcurry takes a few hundred machine gun rounds and is dismembered by Corbin. They open him up when they realize how light he is, they open him up to find he's stuffed with money. Bert is soon dismembered. But there's nothing but money and straw inside him! "Bert was walking around dead for Chrissake." The gang is disconcerted. as Kelly escapes to hear her father cry for help in the corn. to find her disemboweled daddy barbwired to a cross. Suddenly the gang spots the money spread around the yard and spread out to pick it up while Corbin digs daddy a grave. Collecting money and having found his harmonica, Soon Jack's hand is sawed off by a scarecrow, but that's just a bit of fun as his face is unceremoniously cleavered. A crow sew Jack's hand on as Currie nearly escapes a crow and realizes they are not after the money but them. He realizes that the entire event from their clean escape to the corn "What if they hit us and maybe we're dead? Curry receives a radio transmission from Jack that the others cant hear. Jack is on his way with the money so Curry sends the other three since they don't believe him and they run for the plane. Suddenly Kelly hears her blo dog Dax barking and breaks for him. Roxanne stops to pick up money starts gathering up the money rather than running away, in good horror movie fashion, she is soon dispatched pitchfork style. As Kelly searches for Dax, she is stocked by armed scarecrows but Corbin blows one away as the other two give chase Corbin and Kelly run for the plane where Kelly has to chose between fighting the Crows to save Corbin or flying. Back at the house Curry receives a call from his dead friends and soon after the ghost house closes down as Corbin and Kelly fly off for uncscythed, for the moment anyway.</B></div> </td> </tr></table></body>
