A Nightmare on Elm Street 4: The Dream Master

little girl (they are scary!). Then start killing off teens. The twist is that Kristin's power to pull others into her dreams is given to the narcolptic Alice who then takes on the characteristics of Freddies's conquests. Pretty lively pace, although some of the dreamscapes can get a bit long. As the series carries on, we notice that the teenagers get more and more faceless. Whereas in parts one and two we cared about what happens to the participants in the slaughter, there is little attempt at characterization in the ensuing pieces. As the special effects continue to improve (Nice meatball Pizza scene with human heads being devoured by Freddie) with more and more exploding-imploding victims and gravity defying tricks. There are reasons why Freddie has found such resonance with teenagers. He strikes a chord with the awkward early teens who have just left the pre-adolescent nightmare period behind. Freddie is very in tune with the MTV generation. He's the bully gone super big time, always ready with a demeaning word or two before getting to work with his razors. </B></div> <div> <B> As the credits roll down, listen to Freddie rapping with the Fat Boys in "Are you Ready for Freddie". </B></div> <bR> <div> <B>* Blood * Extremely Violent * Strong Language *</B></div> <div> <B>* No Sexual Situations * Brief Nudity * Gory *</B></div> <bR> <div> <B>Plot Summary: The little dream girl is drawing a picture of Freddie in a house. Little kids are skipping jumprope. Kristin pulls Kincaid into a dream. She thinks Freddie's back. The kids are sure that Freddie's history. They poke around in an old furnace a white dog who bites Kristin. Is that a good idea? THe teens wake and Kristin finds that her dog bite is still with her. She's getting nervous and smokes constantly. Kristin's become friends with Alice who doesn't live on Elm street. Her father taught her to be a dream master, to think abut some place fun. Alice's brother Rick does karate kid stuff. Alice seems to be have waking nightmares. Kristin's pulled Kincaid into a dream and his white dog, Jason, is acting strangely. He urinates fire on the ground and there below are bones. Guess who? The Skelleton reconstitutes and  Freddie's back, raised from hell. Kincaid tips a car over on Freddie, but then the cars go all crazy. He calls to Kristin that Freddie's back. It looks like he wasn't dead after all. Freddie gives him the ole finger blades in the abdomen. It looks like a heart attack victim. Another of the kids has his fantasy girl turn into Freddie. He's found drowned inhis waterbed. Kristin hears about the deaths and bumps her head and falls asleep and Freddie's the nurse, wanting to draw some blood. But she wakes in time. Kristin goes to the Kreuger place. Even the other than Elmstreet kids know about Freddie. Alice thinks she sees the child's drawing of Freddie in he house.  Kristin's mother is concerned that she hasn't been sleeping, seeming not to be interested in the fact that two of her friends have just died. Following the direction of the psychologist, she puts sleeping pills in her drink. She's still no believer into part IV. A remarkable case of denial. The beach scene is disturbed by Freddie's claw coming in sharkishly. Dreaming Kristin is stuck in the sand and Freddie pushes her through. It looks like Kristin is Freddie's last Elm street brat. Freddie tricks Kristin into pulling in Alice. Kristin is thrown into the furnace but she throws Alice her power to draw people into her dreams before she dies. Alice has started smoking. The brainy Shiela is getting messages from Freddie. Her pen's bleeding. Alice nad Lisa have a new teacher. Freddie suggests that he and Lisa suck face. It looks like fatal asthma. Alice decides she brought Alice into her dream. The kids are starting to wonder if Alice's Freddie stories don't have soething to them. The town's history doesn't indicate a teen paradise. Alice has taken to working nights. The teacher in lecture notes that Aristotle held that we roam free in dreams. There are positive and negative gates controlled by the dream master that can be entered in dreams. Our man is gokng to the bathroom when cheer leaders jump in with him. Looks like he's in a dream. Ninja boy kicks Freddie's claw out of his hand. But the victory is short lived. Alice has taken on Rick's karate skills. Next it's the weight lifting girl who Alice brings in. Freddie makes Debbie into an insect. Squished in the roach motel. Then Dan was in an accident while narcoleptic Alice was at the wheel. During the operation he is put to sleep. Alice perpares heself with her freien's battle parapaanelia Rambo style and jams swollows some sleeping pills. Just as Dr. Kreuger is about to operate Alice jumps in. The doctor pulls him out. It's just her and Freddie. Freddie claims he's been guarding his gate for a long time. Shila's anti bug device works pretty well. Finally Alice remembers the dream master nursery rhyme. Evil shall see itself and it shall die. Freddie's souls make their escape.</B></div> </td> </tr></table></body>
