Critique: This movie is too slick as in all show-not enough go. Eventually you get sick of the vogue jet set types and all though they meet the fate you eventually wish on them, you find yourself wondering why you had to be party to it. It starts to seem like horror's answer to dynasty. Isa Anderson as Lilith the seductress is seductive enough but never shows a character really deep enough to be so troubled, probably because she's just not a good actress. All the expressionist-horror shadows are almost as bad as those in "The Hunger", it's slick Euro-trash predecessor. Good Production Values and plenty to watch, but as was the case at times with Halloween V, director Dominique Othenin-Gerard is more of a presence than actually desireable.
Plot Summary: During a lunar eclipse, Lilith the temptress, whore to demons, rises from the muck, disturbing the dreams of a benevolvent bayeau witch. The next day, the radio reports that lunar eclipse was accompanied by unusual violence and crib deaths. Some of the guys talking about their magazine mention they had odd dreams last night. A dark harired beauty takes a man to his home rather than to her place as he had hoped. When he won't put her on the cover of his magazine she peels off leaving him to his sleeping wife. But as he's preparing for bed she appears in the bed with his sleeping wife. He can't resist her sinuous movements. When his wife awakes her throat is slit. When the child comes in to find out what the disturbance is, he is hexed away. The next morning, the magazine "Siren"'s editor, Joseph Crenshaw, and his wife and child are reported murdered. Lilith shows up at the party and dances seductively slithering around on the floor. She takes home the new editor, Ron, and suddenly she is a shimmering light. he runs to her but she's gone and he falls to his death in the elevator shaft. Ron is dead and Ted is hurt. It looks like attrition is cutting the ranks of Siren. A woman shows up with her jewelry designs. She knows about the spiritual powers of precious stones. Lilith shows up and hears about Rod, and says maybe she'll pose in black panties to show she's in mourning. Before Ken can say anything about Lilith after the party he goes into convulsions. Rena is the new editor and it looks as though she's taken on with Lilith. Meanwhile Lilith is murmering dreams of power to Rena. The bayeau witch has shown up teaching hell fire. Rena has suddenly decided that Lilith is the new cover girl and she's dresssed her up in a snake's guise. Worse, when a birthstone necklace is brought for her, she turns away from it as though it's poison. Rena is wrapped around Lilith's finger now. Lilith comes to our man's dreams and snakes come from her mouth and bite him. When Kirsty wakes him up from the nightmare, she gives him a necklace with her birthstone, Amethyst. Kirsty is thrown out of her sister Rena's place and Craig goes to pick her up. He is drawn into Lilith's hellish orgiastic sadomasochistic world in the back room of the bar. Just as he's about to be taken, Lilith is burned by his necklace. He manages to stumble out and is taken to the digs of the bayeau witch. She warns them that Lilith is Adam's first wife. She fled the garden and became whore to demons. Back at Siren people are acting a bit strangely. They're all obsessed with sexuality. People are copulating in all the corners. Rena's been killed and all the workers are under Lilith's control and chase after them. Ken gets Kirsty and drives away. They need to stabv Lilith in the heart. They go to where the Bayeau witch knows Lilith will go, for the showdown. While Ken is trying to rape Kirstie she stabs an iron rod through his knee. When he's on her again Lilith shows up. Lilith then takes Ken's heart while Kirstie gets away. Craig starts to follow three toed tracks in the dirt.Lilith then seduces him into giving up the blade and amethyst Lilith reaches in his heart but then in the nick of time Kirstie shows up and when Craig says he loves her Lilith is burned. The amethyst was just a symbol. The injured Lilith becomes a demon and towers over them. The witch, who we thought had died of an heart attack comes and plunges the blade into Lilith who apparently expires.
