Plot Summary: October 30, 1988: an ambulance arrives to transfer a patient from an asylum to Smith's Grove Asylum and with this patently stupid administrative decision, the Halloween series gets back to its roots, its main man, and on the right track. This patient murdered 16 people 10 years ago tonight in a now famous attempt to get at his sister. "Welcomw to hell" says the guard. Both he and his doctor nearly burned to death. Unfortunately, he is resilient. Loomis is still Meyers' doctor. The head doctor, Dr. Hoffmann at the clinic thinks that Loomis' position is more ceremonial than medical. He's hoping Loomis will retire. Loomis was sent a memo, intentionally late, people are sick of loomis and his Michael Myers obsession but wasn't here for the transfer. The orderlies are worse for Loomis' absence. Jamie is a little girl whose parents have been dead for eleven months. She is having a heart to heart with her foster sister Rachel. Laurie Strode (played by Jamie Lee Curtis) was Jamie's mother. Laura was Michael's sister. Dream: As Jamie says her prayers, Michael stands in her room, but leabves when her nightly prayer begins. Laura dreams that a masked figure is chasing her with a carving knife. Fostr parents comfort her.  Haddonfield, Illinois, October 31, Halloween 1988. Rachel will have tio fill in for the babysitter, thus her date with Brady is ruined. Rachel blows up but apologizes to Jamie. Loomis arrives, burned face and cane from ten years ago (see Halloween 2) at the hospital. He's angry. He repeats the lines he's not human and today is Halloween. Hoffmann thinks Loomis needs psychiatric help. Just then the call comes through that there was an accident just south of Mill creek. Loomis doesn't need to know any more. When they arrive, they find that the bodies "are all chewed up". The other doctors note that even if Meyers had survived the wreck, his muscles would be useless after years of lying still. Loomis isn't impressed with this reasoning, checks the amvbulance, noone in the back. They found bodiies 30-40 myards from the ambulance and argue he could have been thrown ourt.  That would be valid only if he were human. They can reach him four hours away in haddonfield.Loomis visits a local gas station, and sees by the dead bodies Michael's been at work. He confronts Michael there and calls to him, "Why now?" "Take me", he shoots but Michael gets away in the towtruck starting an incredible fire.. Jamie's at school, where the kids are chanting "Jamie's an orphan!". Halloween wasn't celebrated at her house. Jamie decides she wants to go trick or treating like the other kids this year. She picks out a clown costume. Loomis tries to get to Haddonfield. He gets a ride from father Sayer, a fellow hunter of evil. Loomis informs sheriff Meeker that Meyers is back. The police mobilize once again. Rachel goes trick or treating, and notices her boyfriend with another girl. Not good thinking on Halloween in Haddonfield. In the foster family's house, there is evidence that it has been by. A picture of the little girl was missing. Michael throws a worker at the power station into the wiring, and electricity is out in he town. Rachel has lost track of Jamie. She sees Michael, but finally finds Jamie. Soon Loomis and the sheriff show up. But the police station is trashed, and the men dead when they arrive. Hal, who lost his boy ten years back, leads the local red necks against Michael. There's a town full of beer bellies shooting shooting up the town. They get Ted Hollister instead of Michael. Jamie learns that the kids at school were right: her uncle is the bogeyman man. They batten down the hatches and wait. Brady's new girlfriend notes to Rachel that Brady's not the last boyfriend she'll lose because she doesn't give out. A chambre du corps mortes. Brady goes down with a bit more dignity than he has exhibited up till now. And then the girls are out on the roof. The virgin's fire extinguisher stuns Michael, though a shotgun wielded by a man is generally useless against him. They look like they're headed safely out of Haddonfield. A further struggle, and Michael faces the combined fire power of the police force. Even if they get past this, will the children be able to carry on with the memory of this night?
