Critique: That's the main problem with this movie is we never find out why Cochrane would do this, and how he planned to pull it off technically. Also, why this expensive and otherwise well made film would pull snakes and bugs out of nowhere without explanation is the scariest thing about the movie to these reviewers. The music and acting, however, are great and the films memorable achievement remains the TV ads with which the maniac warlock intends to manipulate the world. It truly works. You'll be clapping and singing the "Silver Shamrock" theme song until people beg you to shut up.

Plot Summary: Northern California. October. Saturday the 23rd. A man is pursued by suited stooges. He escapes. One of the stones of Stonehenge is missing. It was one of nineteen, and is supposed to represent the cycles of the moon. The man who escaped can only manage they're coming', and then falls unconscious. He is taken to the hospital--he hears the irritating commercial, playing endlessly on the television. He says, they're going to kill us. All of us. He is left alone, and soon his pursuer finishes the job he started. Doctor   pursues him out of the hospital, but having finished his job, he pours gasoline over himself and purposely immolates himself. That night, his daughter, Ellie Grimbridge, comes and identifies the corpse. She doesn't believe it was an accident. She searches out doctor Challis, and he tells her what her father had said about hell kill us all her father's warning.. Challis has the body of the killer carefully autopsied. When Grimbridge was killed, he was picking up masks in San Mira.  Connell Cochrane sells the masks. He got reich selling gags and other novelties. They go and pose as a couple. As they settle in, curfew goes into effect as announced by the loudspeaker. The townsfolk have no love for Cochrane. Our informant loses his head with all his threats against Cochrane. The trademark comes off these masks. Our tradeswoman is fiddling with the electronics on the trademark. Misfire. Saturday the thirtieth. They go and manage to get a tour of the factory. Enough odd things take place there to pique their suspicion further. The stone from Stonehenge holds some great power. The masks are tested on the obnoxious family. The forensics friend has found something that doesn't look like a car part at all. However, she gets drilled. The last festival was three thousand years before. It's a cleansing. Perhaps the idea is to wipe affluent children from the face of the Earth. Maybe its just a prank.
