Melissa's transformation isn't particularly well explained.  </B></div> <bR> <div> <B><U>Plot Summary</U></B><B>: A hothead is badly hurt in a car accident by complaining rather than watchingthe road. When it turns out the victim will probably never wake up, the vanis forced off the road and one of the attendents is beaten while the other appears to know what is happening. He is given a shot to the mouth asnd a hand full of bills. The severely injured motorist is carried away. At the Geneticell corporation, Dr. Holmes is doing research on "renegrade protiens". Holmes' mother has awakened from a coma. He informs Dr. Lloyd, who appears to be the man behind the abduction. Lloyd did germ research. He worked with Holmes' mother but they had a falling out. She had a heart attack on the road. SHe directs him to go up to the shack and burn everything. Particularly relating to hemocyanin. THen she gets very agitated and says to burn the Anthony files. To end the experiment. When he asks who Anthony is, she answers it is his brother. Lloyd seems to be working on some odd lifeform. Harry infroms Dr. Lloyd that he wants twice as much. He's working on changing the course of human evolution. Harry is locked in a cell. There are gibbering, corroded, semi-human types there. These get at Harry adn soon he's devoured. Brad is anoather researcher. He's a cut up. Lloyd has known Holmes' mother for a long time. He says he never knew anything about a brother Anthony. When Lloyd hears about thre home experiments and about Anthony he is very concerned. He goes to her hospital bed. She tells him there were four Anthony experiments.  He threatens her and this causes a heart attack. At the funeral, Melissa Leftridge approaches and says she knew his mother's work. She'd been working with Hemocyanin. Holmes invites her up to the cottage. The researchers arrive. The phone and electricity are out. They start the generator. There's some stink in the basement. They drop a tomato through the floor boards. John's room is now a full laboratory. As a tape of his mother plays a lullabye, a strange digit probes up from the cellar. It pulls the curious dog down under. That night Melissa arrives and starts right to work. Sharon appears to be relegated to making coffee while Holmes and the beautiful Melissa work closely on mother's notes. The rest of the team arrives. Sharon is getting concerned about her missing dog. The cut up, Brad boldly goes in and kisses Melissa, but finds it somehow strange. The digit from below probes around a gift watermellon. As the woman drives the watermellon, an octopus-like thing emerges from inside it. Soon she is strangled and the car veers off the road. It enters her mouth as the car plunges into the water. Melissa has been studying mother's notes. She had been studying marine species. SHe had also been studying hybridisation. THere is a atape of some kind of monster that mother sings to in order to calm it down. One of the men finds the dog in the barn mutilated. Then there is something else there. It is the creature. It begins to strangle him but he cuts off a tentacle. He runs injured to the house. Melissa tells him to say it was a mad dog that attacked. And then he blanks out. When John goes to visit, He tells John that she lied. Melissa meanwhile pokes around in the basement . She goes through a closet and finds the incubatorsthat they had found schematics for as well as the sought after journals. Inside the incubators are various members of the A n thony series. One tries to pop out and a stuggle ensues with the hideous thing. She manages to get it back in its vat. Whatever had attacked him had left traces of Hemocyanin, found only in marine life. Melissa shows up with a bottle of wine and begins kissing John. He, however, shows remarkable restraint. She however appears to be quite persistant and shows up that night. However, it is only to grab the car keys. She brings one of the Anthonys to Dr. Lloyd. She has been receiving a medication from Lloyd it is not working as well. He commands her to bring him Anthony. Hart is still having convulsions. The Dr. says someone else had traces of hemocyanin. He had died. They withdraw a sample of the hemocyanin from Hart's blood. John now wants to destroy the experiment. Melissa is angry and says his mother never would end the experiment. John suddenly realizes that the cells in the sample would be the same as his. He proves it in the test tube. Outside, the monster has grown enormously and disables the car. It reaches through a window and and attacks Melissa. They get her away but she has had too mauch hemocyanide and turns into a sea creature with gills before their eyes and appartently smothers. MOre trouble ensues as Sharon falls into the pit down in the basement. The is a mucky pool down there: apparently Anthony's preferred environment. They drop her a rope but it snaps. As Sharon waits for help, the now gigantic Anthony attacks. Luckily, John comes down with a dart gun in hand and she is saved. Hart shows up to try to warn them but they knw all too well what's going on. Next Cindy falls down into the goo. John and SAharon manage to make their way up. They play the lullaby and soothe the beast. Just when things are looking bad, Dr. Lloyd shows up gun in hand, insisting on taking it alive. They put lumps of food on live wire an electrocute it. It looks as though Cindy is gone forever. Unfortunately, the jars are all empty. It appears the experiment is continuing. Brad sees hundreds of the things down there. Sharon watches as one comes up through the sink and gets her in the face "Alien" style. Brad sets up another surprise for these latest hybrids. Miraculouwly, Cindy comes up through the hole in the floor and John pulls her up. The house burns as the creatures within squeek and struggle to get out.</B></div> </td> </tr></table></body>
