Critique: Warning:Not just a little misogynistic. This film succeeds at its task of first offending and then numbing the viewer. All the torture finally becomes mundane. Certainly the plot (breaking a white slavery ring and saving the kidnapped Natasha) does not keep the attention. This film surely has no redeeming values. The acting is atrocious, but not quite as bad as in some films. Also distressing is that the film quality is not as low as we would have expected. Someone actually spent some money. Perhaps this was meant to be amusing or erotic but dismembering women is not conducive to either. Why was this film made? No doubt there's a market for this sort of thing.
Plot Summary: At the Theatre Macabre, a woman is brought in a box and another is tortured in a finger vice before an audience. The cheap prestidigitator, Sardu, tells us that everything we will be seeing is illusion. Mr. Maverick, the famous football player says it is a trick. As we watch, the torturee has her finger and then head put in a vice. Krecie Syler is a famous critic who is skeptical about the artistic merits. They saw off hands and pluck out eyes. Sardu claims it's no trick, just pure drama. What's that mean? Some of the viewers want to meet the actresses later, but Sardu says, some other time. Back stage, we see "actors" are kept in a cage and treated like animals. Sardu sells his dominated women to an intermediary for an Arab sheik. White slavery. Ralphus, the midget, is told to kidnap Krecie. Krecie is blow darted and soon he's in Sardu's hands. Krecie gets to see a woman receive electrical shocks to her nipples so that she will accept his "domination". Krecie is forced to eat a "trainee" who didn't work out. Next Natasha, the football player's girlfriend, and famous ballerina is kidnapped so that she will dance at Sardu's theatre. She is to be tortured as well until she agrees to dance. The doctor they get to resuscitate Natasha after the torture is also a sadist and in return for his services he is allowed to pull the teeth from a woman who is then forced to perform felacio on her after which he performs "elective neurosurgery" on her in which he drinks blood from her brain. Even Sardu is not impressed and they pitch the doctor into the cage with the "trainees" who rub his organs over their bodies. The police aren't interested in pursuing the kidnapping until he pays $10,000. Natasha gets to see women put on the rack and guillotined much to Sardu and Ralphus' amusement. Still, like Deborah, she is unwilling to dance until they cut off another dancer's feet. The football player comes to the performance and apparently Natasha is under his domination via whistle, saying that the show is art. The performance consists of a topless Natasha kicking the chained up Kreecie until he spits his teeth out.
